Information We Collect

Floodlight is a live scores website for the FIFA World Cup 2026. We collect minimal data and do not require user accounts.

• Usage Data: Anonymous page views and interactions via Google Tag Manager (which loads Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) to understand how visitors use the site.
• Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and screen size for analytics and responsive design improvements.
• Location (optional): Your timezone is detected client-side to display match times in your local time. This data never leaves your browser.
• Poll Votes: When you participate in match prediction polls, we store your vote (which team you predict will win) and an anonymous identifier stored in your browser to prevent duplicate voting. This cannot be traced back to you personally.

How We Use Your Information

• To display live scores, fixtures, and standings
• To convert match times to your local timezone
• To improve site performance and user experience
• To monitor for errors and technical issues
• To display match prediction poll results

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Tag Manager — Used to load Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for site analytics and visitor behavior insights
• football-data.org — To fetch live match data, standings, and statistics
• Vercel — To host and serve the website
• Supabase — To store match prediction poll votes. We use Supabase’s managed PostgreSQL database. Only anonymous poll data is stored (match ID, vote choice, anonymous voter ID).

These services may collect anonymized usage data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Cookies

Floodlight uses minimal cookies. Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity may set cookies for analytics purposes. We do not use advertising cookies or any form of cross-site tracking.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties except as necessary to operate the website (hosting, analytics, data feeds). We never share data for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data Retention

Anonymous analytics data is retained for a maximum of 26 months. No personal data is stored on our servers beyond what is temporarily cached for site performance.

Children's Privacy

Floodlight does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The site is a general audience sports information service.
